Today was all about finding the mean (average) number of leaves on the seedlings.  Our little lady had to choose 5 plants at random from each tray, count their leaves, total them up, and then divide by the 5 plants to get a total mean of leaves per plant in that replicate.  That was a new maths concept for her …

Since the first update, we have had to calculate the percentage of seeds in each replicate that had germinated by day 10, and then how many were still alive by day 17.  We seem to have only lost 2% overall, which I didn’t think was too bad.  They do look very long, thin, and lanky though.  They need to thicken …
