October 2nd, and the first really chilly morning, but that also held promise of a lovely, non breezy, sunny day. I love the change in seasons for many reasons linked to nature, but also for the chance to bring out different clothes, and coming into this season it’s time for our cosy jumpers to surface 🙂 With being so busy, and as I’ve said before, the past couple of weeks have seen us not getting into the outdoors for great quantities of time, so knowing it was going to be a good one today, I scheduled in some definite beach time before tasks took over the day again. So, after a breakfast of pain au chocolats and hot chocolates, we headed straight out (trying to be very quiet walking to the beach for all those lucky souls enjoying a Sunday lie in!).
We scooted down and then enjoyed playing on the large rocks for a while, before heading back to meet the first set of grandparents coming to visit us to say goodbye, before we head off on our adventure. It was my parents visiting today, from a good 2 hour drive away, so we were going to spend the day with them, and it was a good chance to get down the beach again after a lovely pub lunch. So, we took the kelly kettle for its final outing here before it too gets stuffed in a box, and had hot chocolates, hot squashes, and toasted marshmallows in the lovely warm autumn sunshine.
It’s a busy old time, as then later the trios cousins popped in too with their parents, and then our little lady was off up the road to spend some quality time with one of her BFFs. I think the next few days will fly by in a haze and before we know it, we’ll be on that plane.
